Our Mission

To provide quality comprehensive health and wellness services in an LGBT-focused environment, while preserving the dignity and improving the quality of life of the individuals we serve.

Our History

Mazzoni Center is the only health care provider in the Philadelphia region specifically targeting the unique health care needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities. Founded in 1979, it is also the oldest AIDS service organization in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the fourth-oldest in the nation. As the organization grew and evolved to meet the needs of our constituents, Mazzoni Center has combined HIV/AIDS-related services and health services. With over 10,000 individuals benefiting annually from our services, we have proven ourselves to be a leader amounf community-based organizations in the greater Philadelphia area, and have developed a reputation for excellence and innovation in service delivery to our constituents.

Our Services

LGBT people are as diverse as other Americans. They can be found across all racial, ethnic, religious, and socio-economic strata of our society. The diversity of these communities presents many challenges in the delivery of competent and compassionate health care services. At Mazzoni Center, we strive constantly to break down the cultural insensitivity and institutional homophobia often encountered by LGBT individuals accessing the mainstream health care system by providing sensitive, knowledgable, and appropriate health care and preventative services.

Mazzoni Center offers a full array of outreach, prevention, education, direct medical and care services, psychosocial services, and support groups, as described below.
