Earlier this month the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) released the results of the US Trans Survey (USTS), which, at 28,000 respondents, is the largest survey ever devoted to the lives and experiences of trans people.  The USTS was a follow-up to the ground breaking National Transgender Discrimination Survey, which was collected in 2008 and 2009 by the NCTE in partnership with the National LGBTQ Task Force.

March 31 marks Trans Day of Visibility.  A day to celebrate the existence of trans and gender nonconforming people everywhere - and to recognize our especially vibrant and extremely diverse trans community here in Philadelphia.

But where can Significant Others, Families, Friends or Allies of people of trans experience - also Read more...

In 2015 alone, at least 20 trans women in the United States have been murdered. This is a state Read more...

The American Psychological Association (APA) took a step forward earlier this month announcing the formal introduction to “The Guidelines for Psychological Practice with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming People.” These guidelines serve as a model for what competent psychological care should look like and go beyond diagnosis to address broader psychosocial issues affecting people of Trans* experience such as stigma, rejection and bias which we know can lead to violence, Read more...
