Volunteer: Receptionist
Description
Mazzoni Center, Philadelphia’s oldest AIDS Service Organization, has an opening for a Volunteer Receptionist to support its programs. Responsibilities will include:
- Greeting visitors, especially clients, at the front desk. Advising staff members of visitors’ arrivals.
- Answering the phone and being pleasant and helpful to callers.
- Providing lunch relief for staff receptionists.
- Monitoring the use of counseling rooms and telephones. Scheduling Conference Room reservations.
- Maintaining overall appearance of waiting room, counseling rooms and conference rooms.
- Helping with office copying, collating and mailings.
- Helping keep the supply closet and kitchen neat and orderly at all times.
- Handling additional tasks as needed.
This is a part-time volunteer position with flexibility as to hours. However, availability in the afternoon hours is important
Skills
- Comfort working with people from diverse ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, and sexual orientations/gender identities and presentations.
- Able to handle multiple tasks, have good collaborative and interpersonal skills, have problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to think on their feet.
- Strong computer skills.
- Adherence to a set schedule is an important part of this position.
