Judy Morrissey, LCSW
Director
Judy received her MSW from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC and undergraduate degree from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. Judy's clinical background includes a range of inpatient and outpatient experience in LGBT settings, including Whitman-Walker Clinic in Washington, where she worked exclusively with people with HIV/AIDS. She is particularly interested in trauma, addictions treatment and co-occurring disorders. Judy provides clinical supervision in Open Door and coordinates the MSW Intern program. |

Eucharia Borden, LCSW
Therapist
Eucharia earned her Msater of Social Work from Temple University and her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). In addition to her work at Mazzoni, Eucharia works at Social Work Consultation Services, supervising Widener University graduate and undergraduate social work student interns in the Child and Family Services clinical training program. She has worked extensively with people living with chronic mental illness in both inpatient and outpatient settings. For the past four years, she has worked primarily with people living with HIV/AIDS, many of whom present with LGBT-related treatment issues and co-occurring disorders. Eucharia has particular interests in the multiple effects of HIV/AIDS in minority communities, women's issues, trauma, relationships, and the effects of violence in families and communities. |

Lee Carson, MSW, LSW
Therapist
Lee is a native of Rochester, NY where he received his Master's degree in Social Work and he is also a credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor. He has worked in the field of HIV prevention for over 5 years and has worked in chemical dependency rehabilitation for 10 years. He presently works full time in behavioral science research, with a focus on HIV-prevention needs for Black men who have sex with men. Clinically, he believes in strengths-based work with clients, helping them to realize the tools they already possess to create the change they want to see for themselves. |

Arti Chhabria, MSS, MLSP
Manager - R.E.A.C.H. Project
Arti joins Mazzoni Center as the Manager of the newly-established R.E.A.C.H., an inter-agency collaborative program for outreach and pre-treatment services for men who have sex with men (MSM) who have issues related to substance abuse. Arti earned both a Master of Social Services and a Master of Law and Social Policy from Bryn Mawr College. While there, she primarily focused her educational track on social service management. She has worked in the HIV/AIDS field in various capacities over the past 6 years. She has worked with individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues in both inpatient and outpatient settings. |

Stephen Grillo, MEd., LPC
Therapist
Stephen received his Master's in Counseling Psychology at Temple University. He completed his undergraduate work at George Washington University. Stephen is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania. He currently works as a part-time therapist at Mazzoni Center. His full-time work is with the first judicial district of Pennsylvania as a Clinical Evaluator in the treatment court program. His interests lie in the coming out process and empowering individuals to meet their goals. |

John Lutz, MCAT, ATR-BC
Therapist
John received his Master of Creative Arts Therapy from Hahnemann University, and a B.F.A. with a concentration in creative arts therapy from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He has fifteen years experience in both inpatient and outpatient capacities with a number of populations including the chronically mentally ill, adolescents, LGBT and the elderly. John is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania and is registered and board-certified with the American Art Therapy Association. John works full-time in outpatient group therapy with the elderly. John uses both visual and verbal techniques in his practice working with HIV/AIDS, grief/loss, body image, self-esteem and acceptance. |

Rand Faulkner, MSW, LSW
Therapist
Rand is a licensed social worker who received his Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice. He is interested in many issues that are of concern to the LGBT community, including substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, sexual identity issues, and grief and loss. Rand has worked with adults, older adolescents and children. He has also worked with crisis interventions, such as suicide prevention. His work is informed by his interest in existential psychotherapies, in particular a humanistic/client-centered approach to understanding individuals. However, he does understand that the individual’s unique needs determine which form of therapy will work best for them. |

Cherie Older, MSW, LCSW
Intake Coordinator / Therapist
Cherie has a Bachelor of Science from State University of New York - Binghamton, and a Masterof Social Work from Temple University. She has a particular interest in the Cognitive-Behavioral modality, but is eclectic in her treatment approach.
Cherie is most likely the first contact you will have at Mazzoni's Open Door program. As Intake Coordinator, Cherie conducts a brief evaluative interview with each new client, and provides information and resources, as requested. |

Cynthia Closs, LCSW
Therapist
Cynthia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, earning her Master of Social Services degree from Bryn Mawr College, and her undergraduate degree from Temple University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Cynthia has nearly ten years of experience working with a diverse group of individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. She has been trained in EMDR therapy, and completed a three-year intensive training in Gestalt therapy. In addition to her work at Mazzoni Center, Cynthia provides therapeutic services to LGBT-identified and questioning youth. She has a particular interest in working with persons living with HIV/AIDS, trauma, addiction, depression, grief and loss issues and young adults. |

Damon Constantinides, MSW, LSW
Therapist
Damon is a licensed social worker who received his Master of Social Work and Master of Human Sexuality Education from Widener University, and his undergraduate degree from Ithaca College. Damon works primarily from a client-centered perspective, and utilizes tools from various modalities, including Narrative and Cognitive Behavioral therapies. His areas of clinical interest include sexual orientation, gender identity, sexual behavior, as well as depression and anxiety. Damon enjoys working both with adolescents and adults. |

Naz completed his MSW at Fordham University, New York. He also completed an advanced certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and holds a Masters in Divinity. Naz has worked in community health and mental health, primarily among persons living with HIV/AIDS and persons with co-occurring diagnoses. While Naz’s primary theoretical orientation is CBT, he tends to utilize an eclectic mix of approaches that allow him to journey with his clients wherever they find themselves. Naz aims to foster a therapeutic relationship where his clients can reclaim a sense of empowerment, healing, wholeness, and self-direction. |

Laura is a Licensed Social Worker having achieved a Master in Social Service from Bryn Mawr College and a Bachelor of Science from Boston University. Her experience includes working with adolescents and adults in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. Laura enjoys working with clients- individuals and couples- dealing with drug and alcohol abuse/addiction, relationships, depression, trauma, and sexual violence. Laura’s believes that a therapeutic alliance is paramount in getting one's life back on track; her eclectic approach is an effort to identify needs/goals, incorporate thoughtful exploration, good humor, and identifying/implementing tools for empowerment, transition, and change. |

Liza has been a licensed social worker since 1998. She received a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Her undergraduate background includes Women's and Gay and Lesbian studies. Before joining Mazzoni Center, Liza worked for seven years as a therapist in community mental health. Liza's areas of interest include: Women's issues, OCD and anxiety disorders, drug and alcohol addiction and recovery, eating disorders, HIV/AIDS and safer sex counseling, and internalized homophobia/religious conflicts. |

Casey McCollum, LSW
Therapist
Casey is a licensed social worker, having earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and her undergraduate degree from Penn State University. She has worked with clients of all ages and has experience working with a variety of populations in both individual and family settings. Casey’s areas of interests include grief and loss, sex and couples therapy, and mood disorders. In particular, she is interested in identity development and relationships. Drawing from multiple frameworks, she uses solution-focused treatment approaches in addition to existential, interpersonal, and psychodynamic theories to inform her practice for each client’s unique needs and treatment goals. |

Jen received her MSW from Temple University and undergraduate degree in English Education from New York University. She has experience working on LGBTQ issues on the clinical level and in public policy arenas. Jen works part-time at Mazzoni Center. Drawing from Strengths-Based and Feminist theories in her work, Jen is particularly interested in the ways in which sociopolitical factors create conditions of concern for clients. She has also done extensive anti-tobacco industry work and is a certified smoking cessation facilitator. |

Scott Stevens, M.D.
Psychiatrist
Scott is a board-certified psychiatrist who did his medical training at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City, where he subsequently worked doing psychiatric outreach to the underserved of the lower east side
of New York. In addition to now working as a psychiatrist at Mazzoni,
Scott also works at the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Center, an
outpatient clinic that works with homeless military veterans. In terms
of clinical orientation, Scott believes in a non-dogmatic approach,
and feels that the journey toward mental wellness must be self-directed by the client, who defines his or her own life goals and designs a unique path toward those goals with the aid of their care provider. |

Jessie Timmons, MSW, LSW

Jessie is a licensed social worker, and a recent graduate of Temple University, with a Master of Social Work degree. She is especially interested in substance abuse issues and identity development. Jessie has worked in a variety of settings, including crisis intervention, serious mental health and substance abuse, as well as with a variety of age groups. She generally uses a strengths-based, client-centered approach to treatment, drawing on differing theoretical interventions and concepts. |

Alison is a licensed social worker who received her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice, and her undergraduate degree in psychology from Wesleyan University. Her areas of interest include working in the arena of addictions, sex therapy, couples work and treatment of depression. Alison has worked with both inpatient and outpatient populations, and enjoys working both with adults and older adolescents. Her work in informed by both interpersonal therapy and psychodynamic theories, but she maintains an eclectic approach to meet each and every client's individual and unique treatment goals and needs. |

Susanne is currently in her final year of the Professional Counseling Program at La Salle University. She completed her undergraduate work at Penn State University. Her therapeutic orientation is generally, but not limited to, the psychodynamic approach. She is looking forward to working with the LGBTQ community through Mazzoni Center. |
