The first-ever LGBT Health Care Bill of Rights was officially released in November 2014 by our friends at LGBT HealthLink, in conjunction with Missouri's PROMO and lawyer Corey Prachniak. The goal of the project was to educate LGBT people about their rights and protections when it comes to access health care in the U.S.

Mazzoni CEO Nurit Shein said: “We are proud to support this project, because we know that not every LGBT person has access to a culturally competent or LGBT-friendly healthcare provider, depending on where they live. This bill of rights is an important tool in raising awareness among the rights we all have when accessing health care – first and foremost the right to be treated with dignity and respect.”

Prachniak, Chair of LGBT HealthLink's Steering Committee, explained the significance of HBOR: "We have more healthcare protections now than ever before, but what's holding us back is we don't always know about them. We hope this tool will change that reality."
