Director of Prevention Services
Eric Paulukonis has been with Mazzoni Center since January 2007 where, as recruiter, he worked with our medical team to become the highest enrolling site globally for the HPV vaccine research study for men who have sex with men. He later served as manager of the Community Engagement Team, where he oversaw the Get Real Project (a National Institute on Drug Abuse-funded program that uses social media and peer outreach to educate young gay and bisexual men about sexual health and substance abuse), condom distribution programming, community outreach, the mobile testing unit, and the Washington West Project.
As Prevention and Education Services Director, Eric oversees a department that reaches more than 30,000 individuals per year through HIV and STD screening, one-on-one counseling, group interventions, community interventions, youth education/leadership building programs, professional development programs, community building programs and the Philadelphia Trans Health Conference. A native of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, Eric received his undergraduate degree at West Chester University and is currently working toward a Masters in Science Degree at LaSalle University.
