Ben Judd is currently a 1st year graduate student at Drexel University’s physician assistant program, where he will graduate in 2017. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Ben has also served as a firefighter/EMT in the Air Force for nearly five years, and was stationed in Texas, North Carolina, Kansas, and deployed overseas.
This year Ben is the chairperson for the PA Olympics, which consists of seven local Physician Assistant (PA) programs who join together each spring to raise money for a charity of their choice through a competition they call the PA Olympics. We are thrilled to announce that Mazzoni center has been selected as the charity of choice for the 2016 PA Olympics. 100% of the funds raised this year will go directly to supporting Mazzoni center.
As part of the competition, students from all seven PA programs have been raising money online for the past several weeks - all of which will go to Mazzoni Center.
They will also host a special event and fundraiser on Friday, April 1 at Frankford Hall (1210 Frankford Avenue), where the students will meet and compete in this annual competition of great physical strength and mental fortitude - such as a condom water balloon toss! Thanks to the generosity of Stephen Starr and the folks at Frankford Hall, 10% of all sales and $1 for every beer sold between the hours of 4-10 p.m. on April 1 will go to Mazzoni as well. We hope you can join us!
Ben explains more about the PA Olympics program, and why they’re supporting Mazzoni Center, in the closing section of the video above. So check it out, and please join us on Friday, April 1 for a great night out in support of Mazzoni Center!
