Witnessing the ascension to power of an administration, and a group of cabinet appointees, who have explicitly and implicitly threatened civil rights, access to healthcare, public education, and social services – along with the basic human dignity of LGBTQ people – makes today a difficult day for many of us.
If past public statements and voting records are any indication, we have a battle ahead.
But our doors are open and we are not going anywhere. Mazzoni Center is here to protect the health and safety of LGBTQ people and people living with HIV/AIDS; to provide quality healthcare to all regardless of insurance status; and to advance equal rights and the development of fair policies for LGBTQ individuals and families.
From quality, culturally competent medical care, to youth education and skills building programs, free HIV/STI testing, LGBTQ-affirming mental health services, direct legal assistance and much more, we are committed to the work of healing, serving, and providing care for those who need us.
We will not allow hatred to divide us or diminish our power as individuals and as communities.
We will fight for the full equality and dignity of every person.
We will stand up and speak out for queer people, trans people, people of color, immigrants, women, young people, old people, people with disabilities, people living with HIV/AIDS, people living in poverty, and others who continue to need us.
We are here for you, and we will continue to stand with you.
