Welcome to our new website

  • Nurit Shein CEO Mazzoni Center LGBT health

On behalf of everyone here at Mazzoni, I am thrilled to welcome you to our new, improved website!

Our new site represents the culmination of many months of hard work, collaboration and conversation about the nature and goals of our organization, and how we wanted to communicate with the world about who we are and what we do.

Not only has technology and the way we live with it changed dramatically in the five-plus years since we last overhauled our website, but our organization has grown and evolved in significant ways.

We needed the new site to reflect the full continuum of care and services we provide, as well as our interdisciplinary model of service delivery.

We wanted the site to be visually appealing, easy to navigate, and truly reflective of our ‘personality’ and our approach to care - which is friendly, welcoming, and professional.
The nature of our work is deeply personal, so putting a human face on the site was a critical aspect of the project.  We wanted to make sure it would reflect the true diversity of our staff as well as the individuals and communities we serve.

We made some key changes to our information architecture as well, which we hope will result in a smooth and enjoyable user experience:

Each day’s events will be displayed prominently on the home page - from HIV testing to our drop-in support groups, to various special events and community events.  We’ve also got a detailed events calendar for folks who want to search for something specific, either by type or by date.

Programs and services are described in clear language, with key contacts and other essential information prominently displayed.

Staff profiles offer a chance to see who we are, what we do (by department and staff role), and also to better understand the collaborative nature of the way we approach our work.

I’m particularly excited about our blog, which will be an ongoing source of stories as well as practical information. We envision the blog as a place to learn more about our day-to-day work as well as the areas in which Mazzoni is pioneering methods and models of service delivery and care, and some of the key issues that impact our communities.  It will be a place to share the unique expertise and perspectives of our staff, volunteers, contributors, patients and community members.  (If you’ve had an experience you’d like to share with us, we invite you to get in touch and let us know).

I would like to extend our deepest thanks to the team at Message Agency, our longtime collaborators and friends, who poured their time and talents into building the site for us over the past year.  Their commitment, and dedication to understanding our organization and making sure the website captures both the practical aspects of our organization and our philosophy of care was impressive, and is deeply appreciated.

From all of us at Mazzoni Center: we invite you to explore the new site, and stay tuned for more!
