We are have made a number of service changes to minimize contact that may increase the spread of the virus.

Mask Policy

Everyone who visits our building is required to wear a mask while inside the building per CDC guidelines. Masks are available for those with appointments.

We have been informed that one of our behavioral health clients has tested positive for COVID-19 (caused by SARS-CoV-2 or novel Coronavirus). The client was last in our building at 1348 Bainbridge on March 11. Their visit was confined to the first-floor lobby and a therapy office. We have notified staff who worked with the client, or worked in those spaces.

Unlike some other healthcare facilities, Mazzoni Center’s staff, patients and clients live in a shared community. This is a source of our strength. So, during this COVID-19 pandemic, taking care of our clients/patients also means we are taking care of our staff and each other. Our commitment to the health and safety of staff and volunteers and patients and clients is our highest priority.
The inaugural spirituality track took place at the 2009 Philadelphia Trans-Health Conference. Peterson Toscano's Transfigurations: Transgressing Gender in the Bible offered as an evening event.
The very first Friday Night Shabbat Service was in 2009. After several years in the basement of Arch Street United Methodist  Church, where Shelley Rosenberg began orchestrating a vegetarian and kosher dinner before the service, the event moved to the John C. Anderson apartments (251 S 13th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107) in 2015.

The second series of workshops will focus on providing inclusive and affirmative medical care to transgender and gender non-conforming patients in a primary care setting and a professional development opportunity for educators to learn more about suicide intervention for LGBTQ youth from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. A community workshop will also be held for us to learn how to better support one another during challenging times!
