Do you struggle to understand your emotions, or do your emotions feel overwhelming? Do you find yourself in relationships or interactions that feel confusing or frustrating?
Learning how to handle these overwhelming feelings not only helps to build healthy relationships, but can also give you a better understanding of yourself and your own emotional needs.
Managing Strong Emotions is a 12-week skills-building group for LGBTQ individuals. Each week, participants will have the opportunity to discuss a topic or participate in an activity relating to relationships or emotions.
Group meetings will focus on:
• Understanding and verbalizing your emotional experience
• Incorporating mindfulness, relaxation, and body awareness into everyday life
• Enhancing one’s capacity to see problems from alternative perspectives
• Building general interpersonal skills and effectiveness
