STI screening

  • Washington West Project 1201 Locust Street HIV and STI testing Philadelphia Mazzoni Center

Mazzoni Center offers free STI (sexually transmitted infection) screening on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at our Washington West Project, located at 1201 Locust Street.

For more than three decades, “Wash West” has been a fixture in Philadelphia’s gayborhood, providing a friendly and welcoming space for LGBTQ folks and anyone else to stop in and meet with one of our counselors about any questions or concerns they may have relating to their sexual health.

No appointments are required. Our goal is to make testing convenient and comfortable for everyone who comes in.  We’re also working to reduce the stigma that is sometimes associated with getting tested for STIs, including HIV.

If you test positive for any sexually transmitted infection, our staff will provide you with appropriate information and a referral for free treatment.

Please note that STI screening are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.  We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the end time to ensure you will be seen.

*note that free, rapid HIV testing is provided six days a week - Mondays through Saturdays - at Wash West, also on a walk-in basis with no appointment required.
