Mazzoni Center releases statement following sexual harassment allegations

The Chief Executive Officer of Mazzoni Center released a statement today following allegations of sexual harassment within the organization made anonymously last night.

All employees at Mazzoni Center are entitled to work in an environment that is free from harassment.

The allegation of sexual harassment, not previously presented to me, was made anonymously during the question and answer portion of Mazzoni Center’s breakout session at the Philadelphia LGBTQ State of the Union Community Conversation on Tuesday evening.

These allegations are deeply disturbing and we take these and others like them, very seriously. Be assured we will thoroughly investigate these allegations, and we will take prompt, appropriate action to address them.  In accordance with Mazzoni Center policy, any person who comes forward in the investigation will not suffer any retaliation by Mazzoni Center or any individual employed by Mazzoni Center, as a result of having cooperated in the investigation. There will be no retaliation.

It is Mazzoni Center’s policy not to disclose specific details or information about personnel matters, in the interest of protecting the privacy of our employees.
