TD Charitable Foundation Supports Mazzoni Center Prevention Outreach Efforts

Thanks to a grant from TD Charitable Foundation, Mazzoni Center will continue to identify new opportunities to provide outreach and to link vulnerable and high-risk LGBTQ Philadelphians to care, retain them in care, and provide additional health and wellness support services.
Corporate and Foundation Relations Officer Chelsea Switzer said, “TD Charitable Foundation’s generous funding assists Mazzoni Center’s Prevention Team staff members to expand our range of prevention services for the evolving needs of the many vulnerable communities we serve and support.”
Background on Mazzoni Center’s Prevention Services Team provides to the community:
Mazzoni Center’s Prevention Services Program consists of three distinct teams: The Community Health Engagement Team, The STI Testing Team, and The Navigation Team.  These three teams deliver community-based programming that focuses on HIV and STI education and awareness, HIV and STI testing and prevention, access to and education about PrEP and PEP, linkage to medical care and other supportive services for those with HIV, and community education and engagement. Our teams regularly collaborate with other Mazzoni Center departments on various projects to provide high-quality, compassionate, and client-centered care.
The Prevention Services team is committed to reaching high-risk populations with a concentration on people of color with targeted outreach and prevention initiatives while at the same time dedicated to serving HIV-positive people in Philadelphia with a broad range of services aimed at meeting their unique health and wellness needs. All of Mazzoni Center’s prevention services are provided at either very low or no cost to clients.
