Amede Bennett [They/Them] The saucey, surreal Canadian transplant, who's living life as an adventure. Embracing everything life has to throw at them.
Amede started their career in events at the young age of 16 when they got their first job as a server for an offsite catering and production company. At Temple University Amede became their fraternity’s [Sigma Alpha Mu] Social Chair, and held the position for a three year tenure. As Social Chair Amede made a point to create inclusive events, and providing a safe space for everyone. During this time they learned how to follow regulations, work with a diverse group of folks, de-escalate situations and keep everyone safe while providing an unforgettable experience. Amede focuses on creating connections and making everyone feel appreciated.
After graduating from Temple University with a degree in Strategic Communication w/ a Concentration in Public Relations. Amede started interning for the Philadelphia Trans Health Conference, which is now the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference. After proving their ability and skill, Amede was promoted to part-time Event Coordinator and most recently became Mazzoni Center’s full- time Event Coordinator. Amede is looking forward to honing their event planning, all while making the community around them smile.
