Ian McCoy

Counseling Intern
Ian is studying social work at Temple University and has received supplementary training to provide peer-based recovery support services. Ian is passionate about enhancing the well-being of marginalized populations by empowering people and improving their ability to address their own needs. His work is motivated by a set of core values, including, service, social justice, the dignity and worth of the person, and the importance of human relationships. Ian strongly believes in utilizing the strengths perspective (i.e. promoting and developing a person’s innate abilities and capacities) to enhance human capital and improve the quality of life for people who are vulnerable, oppressed, and marginalized, while simultaneously fighting against the environmental forces that create inequality.
