Larry Benjamin, who describes himself as a “story teller,” joined the staff at Mazzoni Center in November 2017, bringing with him more than two decades of experience in internal and external communications, change management, employee engagement best practices, and social media strategy and execution.
He is a fierce believer in the power of open and clear communication, and has provided communications for a wide range of industries and markets, both in-house and in a consulting capacity.
After two decades in the corporate world, he began a search for a job that had a greater return than “shareholder value,” and turned his focus to the non-profit sector. He was attracted to Mazzoni Center because of the great work they do, and the way in which they have faced challenges and because believes he can add value, help drive the organization forward and make a difference.
In addition, Larry is a writer in the genre of gay literary fiction and has published three novels, a collection of short stories, and an allegorical novella. He is also the author of the blog, This Writer’s Life, which gives him an outlet for his many random, sometimes relevant, thoughts.
Larry became Interim Director of Development in Feburary 2019.
