Robert Pileggi, MSS, LSW
Bob supports compassionate self-acceptance while increasing the capacity to cope with life’s challenges and changes with ease, confidence, and self-worth. His work has focused on anxiety, depression, body image, self-esteem, identity formation, relationships and being highly sensitive. Bob’s practice is founded on co-creating a safe space for exploration, focusing on present-moment awareness, client strengths, and the therapeutic relationship. The work is supported by Gestalt, Humanist, cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic perspectives.
Bob also appreciates body awareness and spiritual perspectives as avenues complementing emotional and mental health. He has studied yoga and interfaith ministry, and teaches mindfulness. Bob’s life has focused on the empowerment of LGBT people and he has contributed to cutting-edge civil rights equality issues through community organizing and education projects at Lambda Legal, NGLTF, and other local and regional LGBT organizations.
Bob received a Master of Social Service from the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research.
