For the past six months Brian Taylor has been coordinator of Mazzoni Center's CLEAR program (Choosing Life Empowerment Action Results), our one-on-one life skills counseling program for people living with HIV. Mazzoni Center is pleased to announce that it was recently awarded $100,00 from the Independence Blue Cross Foundation ’s (IBC) Blue Safety Net grant program. A grant of $50,000 will provide continued support for the position of Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC), which has been in place at Mazzoni Center Family and Community Medicine (MCFCM) since June of 2014. Recent events on our national political landscape, along with incidents of harassment here in the city, have left many in the LGBTQ individuals, people of color, immigrants, and others from marginalized communities feeling uncertain and vulnerable. Mazzoni Center is offering a support group for LGBTQ community members to come together in a safe place to share, discuss and get support.
