Mazzoni Center trainings are tailored to meet the specific needs of each requesting site. Our trainings for educational settings can be designed for faculty, staff, students, and parents seeking information about LGBTQ communities, strategies for supporting LGBTQ young people in schools, and tangible steps for navigating student, parent, and administrative responses for transgender student inclusion. Learning objectives include but are not limited to:

  • Differentiate among the categories of sex at birth, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation
  • Establish a working knowledge of LGBTQ terminology and identities
  • Establish a working knowledge of HIV/STD prevention in youth populations
  • Understand the differences between medical, legal, and social transitions for transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) individuals
  • Apply 3 clinical tools for improving services for TGNC patients using case examples
  • Demonstrate new skill sets for reducing health disparities among TGNC communities
  • Describe 3 reasons for HIV/STD health disparities among LGBTQ populations
