What is Kids Camp?

Kids Camp is a program of the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference for children ages 5-11. Facilitated by teaching staff of My Bright Beginnings Preschool, Kids Camp is a safe and fun space for children to create, explore, and play while parents attend conference workshops. All volunteers and Kids Camp staff are required to have state and federal child clearances.

Kids Camp opens at 9:00 am each day of the conference.

What does a day in Kids Camp look like?

Parents can register their child for a full day in Kids Camp or in hour shifts. The Kids Camp schedule aligns with our General Track conference schedule so parents can attend workshops while their kids are supervised by professionals. Some activities available to the children include: science projects, arts and crafts, board games, music exploration, field trips, gross motor activities, and construction of the annual kids camp flag.

Will food be provided for my child?

A light breakfast consisting of fruit, yogurt, and pastries are available every morning for Kids Camp campers and Kids Camp staff/volunteers. Lunch is also provided each day with gluten-free, vegan, and meat options. Snacks and water are provided throughout the day.. If your child has specific dietary restrictions, please bring a packed lunch/snacks. Lastly, Kids Camp is a nut free zone!

What are the security measures for Kids Camp?

Kids Camp has trained and licensed security guards stationed outside at all times as well as to accompany Kids Camp on any excursions outside of the Convention Center. For their privacy and safety, both Kids Camp and our Youth Space (for ages 12-18) are sectioned off from all other workshop rooms and have their own private bathroom located directly outside of the space. There is a welcome table outside of Kids Camp for parents to check-in, drop off, and pick up their children. Parents are not permitted inside Kids Camp with the exception of a 5 minute drop off and pick up. Parents are also not permitted in the Kids Camp bathroom. Every staff member and volunteer inside Kids Camp have their federal and state clearances to supervise and care for children.

What if I need to cancel?

To cancel your child’s Kids Camp reservation, you must call prior to your scheduled slots by 9am. If you do not cancel within your window, your spot will be given to another child. To cancel, please call (484) 540-5397.

I couldn’t register! Do you take walk-ins?

We do have a Wait List at our Welcome table directly outside of Kids Camp, you can’t miss it! There you can check in with one of our Kids Camp staff and leave contact information in case any spots open up! We accept children on a first come, first served basis.

This sounds amazing, how do I get involved?
