Bruchim ha Ba’im! Shalom! Welcome!
Don't know challah from halvah? Haven't had a matzah ball in years? That's fine, bubbeleh! You can still enjoy Shabbat dinner at the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference.
Join us for Shabbat dinner at PTHC! Dinner, catered by Nana's Kitchen, will be vegan/vegetarian with gluten-free options. Please RSVP, although we will attempt to welcome walk-in’s if space allows.
Date and Time:
Friday, August 3, 2018 Dinner at 5:45 pm. At 7:00 pm, we’ll enjoy a beautiful and inspiring Kabbalat Shabbat Service with D'var Torah led by Enzi Tanner.
John C. Anderson Apartments. 251 S. 13 th Street. (The building is wheelchair accessible.)
We will meet in the lobby of the Convention Center (5:30 pm) and walk over together.
Free! Donations are welcomed and appreciated. We will have a donation jar at the door and accept cash or checks payable to the Transfaith. Your generosity will help ensure that we are able to continue the tradition of an open, inclusive, celebratory PTWC Shabbat.
A note on cost: As trans, queer, and allied Jews, we know the real cost when our communities leave some members on the outside. In the spirit of inclusion and justice, the PTWC Shabbat Program Team is committed to ensuring financially accessible community spaces for all of us, and to our Shabbat dinner being open to everyone who wishes to participate, regardless of financial means. The Shabbat dinner is free of charge. If you are in a position to do so, we encourage you to consider donating to ensure that we are able to continue the tradition of an open, inclusive, celebratory PTWC Shabbat!
RSVP as soon as possible! But no later than Thursday, August 1st at noon so that we can be sure we have enough food for everyone.
