More Than a Look! Intersections between Fashion, Mental and Sexual Health
More Than a Look! Intersections between Fashion, Mental and Sexual Health is a workshop that will explore and discuss how fashion communicates non-verbally who we are, what we believe, what we consider important, and how we want others to view us. It also conveys an identity we have created for ourselves. While many people take for granted that anyone can walk into a store and shop and leave with clothing that they feel good about, it’s not that easy for those who identify as transgender, queer, or non-binary which can have an effect on mental and sexual health.

Nhakia Outland, MSW
Nhakia Outland, MSW is a mother of three children ages 19, 17, and 9. She has worked in the social service field in different capacities for over 10 years advocating and being an ally for underserved and marginalized individuals, families, and communities. She is also a social worker, health insurance specialist, sex educator, consultant, LGBTQ advocate and ally, fashionista, entrepreneur, and she wears many other hats in Philadelphia, PA.
