Transgender care and management for the clinician new to clinical care of transgender patients

In this workshop, we will review currently accepted practice and application of medical care of the transgender adolescent and adult. The presenter will cover evaluation of gender identity, medications used, monitoring patients taking hormones for medical management and provide resources currently used.

Learning objectives

At the completion of this workshop, attendees will be competent to provide medical care and management for the transgender adolescent and adult patient. At the completion of this workshop, attendees will have resources readily accessible for ongoing management of transgender adults and adolescents.

About the presenters

Dane Menkin

Dane is a nurse practitioner who has been providing medical care for trans and non-binary patients for over 10 years. He is a WPATH member, contributor to the TransLine hotline for providers and Divisional Director of LGBTQ services for The Main Line Health System. Dane has developed multiple academic curricula focused on transgender care, for schools of nursing. He has published multiple pieces for clinicians, on the provision of care for transgender patients, in multiple settings.
