#A1PHA project

Mazzoni’s #A1PHA Project builds on the leadership of young men and trans-identified youth of color who have sex with men. In group sessions led by our trained facilitators, we explore the unique social, cultural, and personal factors of young men and trans-identified people of color, including racism and homophobia and their connection to sexual health and sexual relationship dynamics. #A1PHA participants learn the tools and skills to promote health, wellness, and community building.

All #A1PHA workshops are free of charge; participants are provided with lodging and transportation (if using an offsite retreat venue), meals, and transit tokens.

This program is open to young gay or bisexual men of color as well as trans-identified persons ages 14 -24 who have sex with men.

#A1PHA sessions generally take place at Mazzoni Center's main location (1348 Bainbridge Street) and Washington West location (1201 Locust Street). The program can also be implemented at high schools, recreation centers, community centers, and other locations by request.
