Development and Communications Internships

Development and Communications Internships

Our Development & Communications Department provides internship opportunities to students pursuing communications, nonprofit administration, or development-related degrees. Each internship shall begin in conjunction with each intern’s academic schedule. Interns shall commit themselves to a minimum of 24 hours per week and a maximum of 30 hours per week of work.

Interns will work under the supervision of Development & Communications staff and be considered part of the Development & Communications team, participating in team meetings and co-working sessions, providing the opportunity for real-world experience, education, and training in the workings of a complex non-profit organization.

Internships types could be as follows:

1) Communications Intern: Working under the supervision of the Digital Communications Specialist, this internship shall participate in creating external communications, developing social media, and creating new multimedia communications assets.

2) Gala Intern: Working under the supervision of the Executive Development & Communications Officer, this internship shall participate in all aspects of planning for a major non-profit gala, with a focus on outreach to potential sponsors and partners, along with visibility-raising efforts.

Both of these internships shall be unpaid and without the expectation of employment following the conclusion of the internship. Mazzoni Center will work with successful applicants’ academic programs to provide academic credit where available/feasible under organizational and program rules.

Applications will only be accepted until April 15.

To be considered for an internship, interested students must submit a cover letter and resume, indicating the specific internship for which they have interest, to David Weisberg at [email protected]
