Legal Services
Legal Services at Mazzoni Center provides free or low-cost legal advice and assistance to LGBTQ people on issues related to their LGBTQ identity, with an emphasis on helping low-income and lower-income, underserved populations. We are the only program in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that does so.
For non-urgent issues, contact Legal Services via email.

On issues within our mission, our help may include advice and, in some circumstances, representation. Or we may be able to refer you to attorneys or other organizations that can help pro bono (without charging legal fees). For people who are not low-income, we can help you identify attorneys in private practice who work on the issues you are dealing with and who have expressed that they are sensitive to LGBTQ people and their legal needs. In addition to direct representation, we also work to advance the rights of LGBTQ people through advocacy, education, and training.
Our team also works to reduce discrimination and other obstacles that can deter or exclude LGBTQ people from employment and civic life through informing, educating, and training members of the public, the legal profession (including judges), employers, and service providers about laws protecting LGBTQ adults and young people against discrimination, and practices for advancing workplace equality.
Our work is made possible because of volunteers and interns. If you are a legal professional, law student, or college student interested in joining in supporting, see our volunteer or internship pages.
