Public Policy

Many barriers that impede the ability of LGBTQ+ people to live their lives freely and without discrimination are systemic.

Some laws are hard to challenge through direct representation and individual advocacy alone. Our clients’ experiences, and the experiences and patterns observed by providers across Mazzoni Center, provide unique insight into our communities’ needs, and inform our advocacy for public policy and legislative changes that will improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people. To amplify our voices, we regularly join with local, state, and national organizations advocating for the LGBTQ+ communities.

By commenting on proposed new rules or regulations, providing testimony concerning important legislation, and submitting or joining friend-of-the court briefs, we bring added perspective on issues of importance to the LGBTQ+ community.
