Applications Are Currently Paused

Currently, Mazzoni Center’s Legal Services Program is not accepting new requests for assistance. At this time, the Department is working with reduced staffing, and we are taking this pause to ensure that our existing clients with active cases or matters receive quality support, information, assistance, or referrals. For applications that are currently pending, we are also working to respond with information about options and resources.  

If you need immediate assistance with or information about name changes or changing the gender on ID records while we take this pause, below are some organizations that may be able to assist you or refer you to appropriate counsel:*

We expect to resume accepting requests and applications for assistance Spring 2025.

Please check back again and complete an application when we reopen for new applicants. When we do, we look forward to reviewing your application, giving it the time and attention it deserves, and following up with you to address options. If you already applied before this pause, please know we are reviewing pending applications and requests, and will reach out to you as soon as possible.
