Washington West Project - Against All Odds

In 1996, Mazzoni Center expanded its HIV testing services to eight off-site testing locations, including the Washington West Project, an “after-hours” storefront located in the Gayborhood at 1201 Locust Street, in partnership with Action AIDS, AIDS Information Network, and BEBASHI. Later on, galaei and Colours would join the partnership.

Washington West Project has pioneered HIV testing, prevention, and support services since. It is now the largest community-based HIV testing site in Philadelphia, conducting approximately 7,000 HIV tests annually. 

Services Available at Washington West today include Rapid HIV Testing, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Trichomoniasis screening and treatment, Hepatitis C screening and treatment, PrEP services, and HIV Care.
