As part of our commitment to raising awareness about LGBTQ sexual health and HIV/STI prevention and other issues affecting the populations we serve, our community engagement and outreach teams perform education and outreach work in a variety of settings and contexts.
Born out of an HIV testing initiative in 2017, OUR (On-hand Unique Resources) Way quickly morphed into a weekly drop-in program (OUR Space at OUR Way) intended to “meet trans individuals where they are” and helping trans individuals get the services, resources, and support they need.
The Trip Project is a social movement created for men who have sex with men (MSM) and trans-identified people of color (POC) that creates hangout spaces, and offers opportunities to learn about, and connect to, services and programs.
As part of our commitment to raising awareness about sexual health and HIV/STI prevention, and encouraging LGBTQ community members to practice safer sex, Mazzoni Center’s community engagement and outreach team distributes condoms free of charge in a variety of settings and contexts.
Our street outreach team is regularly found canvassing various Philadelphia neighborhoods, bars, clubs, and other venues, where they engage people in conversation about safer sex, HIV and STI facts, and give out safer sex kits and referral information.
We may also be available for tabling, educational and informational presentations at community health fairs and other public events.
