Exciting News About the 2024 Phila Trans Wellness Conference
We’re excited to announce that, in 2024, the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference is back. Being back means being back together…in person. At the same time, unlike our most recent in-person conferences at the Convention Center, this year PTWC will be more focused and more intimate, much like the conference was 20 years ago, as we step back out in a manageable and meaningful way.
Our 2024 Conference will be held on the campus of Temple University, easily accessible off the Broad Street subway line, and our space will enable us to accommodate approximately 1,000 participants. Having a more focused conference this year will provide increased opportunities for interactive programming, networking, and opportunities to share, building a conference community where those joining us will feel like participants and not simply attendees.
Our volunteer committee, along with our staff, is working to curate workshops centering trans-affirming and empowering narratives and experiences, workshops that fully embrace an intersectional trans-affirming and anti-racist value set that seeks to combat and undermine narratives and trends of transphobia, white supremacy, racism, xenophobia, ageism, ableism, and homophobia.
Now, for the part you’ve been waiting for…the dates.
We’ll begin with a day of continuing education programming on September 5th, including medical, legal, and behavioral health tracks. And our general conference programming will run September 6th and 7th.
Our plan is to launch registration in late April, with a more limited capacity this year, we are actively working to develop plans for registration that ensure equity and cultivate a diverse community of participants.
For those who are unable to attend in person, we’re exploring opportunities for limited virtual participation.
Please watch our website at www.transphl.org for more details. We’re so excited that we’ll be sharing the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference with so many of you again…in person.
