Mazzoni Center Brings Dr. Fauci, Karine Jean-Pierre & Rufus Wainwright Together for World AIDS Day
This December 2, in recognition of World AIDS Day, Mazzoni Center is proud to present HIV Care: Progress, Persistence, and the Path Forward, a powerful national conversation bringing together leading voices in public health, advocacy, and the arts.
Hosted by Karine Jean-Pierre, former White House Press Secretary and Senior Advisor to President Joe Biden, and featuring a keynote conversation with Dr. Anthony Fauci, former Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, this special virtual program will honor the history of HIV care while exploring the path forward for prevention, treatment, and equity.
The evening also includes a special musical performance by Rufus Wainwright and a distinguished panel discussion featuring:
- Joe Hollendoner, CEO, Los Angeles LGBT Center
- Patrick Sullivan, DVM, PhD, Professor of Epidemiology, Emory University
- Dr. Stacey Trooskin, Chief Medical Officer at Mazzoni Center
- Danny Whitman, Executive Director, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS
- Dr. Joseph Zuniga, President & CEO, International Association of Providers of AIDS Care
Dr. Trooskin will bring Mazzoni Center’s local leadership and clinical perspective to this national stage, highlighting Philadelphia’s continued role in advancing HIV care and innovation.
Together, the panel will explore:

- Persistent disparities in care and access
- Policy threats and funding challenges facing our communities
