Rates of respiratory viruses - especially influenza - are surging in our area. Vaccines are a great way to prevent serious illness. At Mazzoni Center, respiratory virus vaccines are given during a visit with a medical provider, so please ask about vaccines when you schedule or during an appointment. If you do not have an upcoming visit, many local pharmacies offer walk-in or same-day vaccines, which is a safe and easy option. You can also lower your risk by wearing a mask in crowded indoor spaces, washing your hands, avoiding sick contacts, and staying home if you feel unwell. If you get vaccinated elsewhere, we are happy to answer questions and update your record.
