Join us this fall for Philly's annual OURfest Celebration in our Chasing Rainbows Campaign: A new awareness and fundraising initiative focused on the uninsured and underinsured patients we serve.
Why Are We Doing This?
1) More People At Risk of Losing Coverage
With recent changes in Medicare requirements alone, over 700,000 Pennsylvanians are in danger of losing or reducing their insurance coverage
2) Rising Costs
Healthcare expenses have risen more drastically than any other costs in the nation. As of last year, Mazzoni Center supports over $1million to cover those without insurance and those who have insurance that does not cover the total cost of care
3) Reducing Barriers to Care
As is often the case, the populations that experience the largest barriers to care are those impacted most by recent changes and cuts, particularly for LGBTQ+, communities of color, and those experiencing historic poverty. Financial hardship is the #1 reason medical care is refused, and the #1 reason Americans go into debt.
Our Goal
- To raise awareness about this growing vital issue that impacts so many.
- To spark financial and community partnerships to address these needs.
- To celebrate National Coming Out Day (OurFest) with those who are starting/continuing their journey towards personal freedom and healthy lifestyles.
With Chasing Rainbows, we hope to raise awareness of the challenges some face in getting care while expanding our efforts to assist those without insurance, as well as those with inadequate insurance. Join in on the campaign for a minimum donation of $5 today:
