Ensuring that Mazzoni Center can live long and prosper
Ensuring that Mazzoni Center can live long and prosper

While we navigate a murky and challenging political landscape, Mazzoni Center is going to continue shining a light on joy and celebration as a show of strength and defiance.
Just three months ago, one week after election day, many of us joined together at the Kimmel Center for our 2nd annual Mazzoni Center Honors benefit, at which we honored the beloved George Takei. It was an evening of beauty, togetherness, meaning, and support, and we’re pleased to share three of those many magical moments with you today.
Please enjoy:
- A special Klingon lesson about inclusion from Scott Bakula.
- An inspiring performance from the legendary Martha Wash, who first performed for Mazzoni Center, then called Philadelphia Community Health Alternatives, in 1991.
- A dynamic performance by Brittany Lynn, Rocceaux, and Jolene Cuisine, of Mazzoni Center’s Drag Queens Auxiliary.
If you are as inspired by watching these performances as so many of us were that evening, we encourage you to consider how you might help sustain Mazzoni Center’s vital work and spread the word to others to do the same.
As George Takei would say, only through the power of our community can we ensure that Mazzoni Center will continue to “live long and prosper.”
