In August, Mazzoni Center welcomed Rachel Springer, MD as a staff physician in the health center. Rachel comes to Mazzoni Center from Penn Family Medicine. She decided to come to here because she believed in our mission.“I had a really good feeling in my interview,” she said. “It seemed like everyone was here for the right reasons.”

Rachel earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, and she has been practicing medicine for three years. Rachel specializes in Family Medicine and also has experience with Gender Affirming Care, Reproductive Health and Family Planning. Though Rachel has only been with Mazzoni Center for a few weeks, she quickly noticed how our staff is all on the “same page” when providing respectful and affirming care to all of our patients. Rachel is looking forward to seeing more patients and is hoping to expand her skill set and provide more services. “I would really like to increase my skills with HIV care, and I’d like to help in building out our services of office-based procedures,” she said. In Rachel’s spare time, she enjoys knitting and taking care of several house plants that she amassed since the start of the pandemic.

Mazzoni Center is excited to have Rachel on board at the health center. Our staff and patients will only benefit from her knowledge and experience.
