Mazzoni Center’s medical center helps patients overcome many barriers to gender-affirming care, including training on and access to equipment to self-inject hormones. Sometimes patients, especially those starting hormones or changing pharmacies, can’t get the right equipment from their pharmacy. Mazzoni Center aspires to pilot providing “gender-affirming injection gift bags” with a month’s supplies of injection supplies to patients beginning self-injection treatment. A contribution of $450 will provide enough supplies for 200 gift bags, piloting the first 6-12 months of this new program. A contribution of $200 will help to purchase “auto-injector” syringes for patients who have difficulty with self-injection due to anxiety or motor-skills issues.
