About The Conference | PTWC

The Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference (PTWC), held since 2001, offers a space for trans people and allies, families, and providers to come together to re-envision what health and wellness means for transgender and gender non-conforming people.

The Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference is all about community. It was started with a four-person planning committee: Charlene Arcila, June Dizon, Ben Singer, and Ron Powers with the first event taking place in May 2001 at the Arch Street Meeting House featuring 4 speakers and a 100 attendees. Now, the largest FREE trans-focused conference in the world, the conference educates and empowers trans individuals on issues of health and well-being; educates and informs allies and health service providers; and facilitates networking, community-building, and systemic change.

We strive to create an accessible and respectful environment that is inclusive of diverse gender identities and expressions as well as inclusive of diverse opinions and ideas.
